Felt Cleaning Assembly
The press section felt cleaning design assembly incorporates the optimal combination of weight and structural integrity to resist both deflection and vibration. The assemblies are designed to withstand a vacuum of 20" Hg (0.07 MPa) and are available in 304L or 316L grade stainless steel. To ensure proper application, all felt cleaning assembly sizing is done using a proprietary sizing program.
Assemblies are available in standard pipe diameters ranging from 6" to 18"; larger cross-sections are available for special high-flow or high-vacuum applications.
Each pipe assembly is supplied with a a 3" pipe nipple and cap tending side cleanout port. The outlet size is full pipe diameter and is supplied with a floating stainless steel flange connection. Other options such as plain ends or victaulic groove are available.
Suction Box Rotators
Suction box rotators offer safer and easier inspections, wear surface changes, and cleanouts.
Felt cleaning assemblies are available with optional heavy-duty manual or automatic rotating mechanisms. These provide a safe and easy method to rotate the suction pipe for inspection, change wear surfaces. and remove pitch and stickies from the covers.
As the use of recycled fiber increases, the suction box rotator feature is becoming essential for problem-free runs and higher-quality products. The rotation option also improves machine operating efficiency and eliminates wear and drag when an assembly is not in operation.
Manual Suction Box Rotators
The manual rotation option is a jack-screw and hand-wheel assembly. It enables machine tenders to rotate the felt cleaning assembly up to 45° from its operating position.
Automatic Suction Box Rotators
The automatic rotation option uses a hydraulic motor and provides up to 270° of rotation. The rotation is controlled using a panel designed to be located in an easily-accessed area. The panel also serves to enclose an electric pump that drives the hydraulic motor located on the felt cleaning assembly.
