Kadant Web Systems Expands Doctor Blade Offerings to Flexographic Printing

 

Auburn, Mass., September 18, 2009 – Kadant Web Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Kadant Inc. (NYSE:KAI), has expanded its current doctor blade product line to include ProEdge™ doctor blades for flexographic printing and offset coating applications. ProEdge doctor blades are available in seven different wear-resistant blade materials and feature application-specific bevels and profiles for precise cleaning and metering performance.

ProEdge doctor blades can be applied to flexographic and offset printing used in a variety of industrial processing applications including corrugating, converting, envelope, newspaper, and flexible packaging. The blade edge configuration is available beveled or straight, depending on the specific application need. The standard bevel ranges from 22 to 45 degrees allowing for a balance between high metering quality and doctor blade performance life.
