How it Works

The Pit Bull doctor blade extractor's special design has hardened, knurled wheels which are retracted by a spring-loaded trigger. When the trigger is released, the knurled wheels grip the doctor blade. This wedge action of the wheels assures that the Pit Bull firmly grips the blade as it is tugged. The more pulling force applied, the stronger the Pit Bull will grip the blade.

 

An eye bolt on the end of the Pit Bull is adjusted to ensure that the knurled wheels securely grip the blade and do not release during its removal. The eye bolt, once locked, can also be used to attach an additional device for the removal of the most stubborn doctor blades.

 

Self-Adjusting Jaw

The Pit Bull is designed so that the spring loaded jaw automatically adjusts to blade thickness of 0.005" (0.127 mm) to 0.250" (6.350 mm). The jaw's "wedge" action and adjustable locking device ensures a positive hold on all blade materials assembly.

 

Safety Against Stubborn Doctor Blades

This device is available in 48" (1219 mm), 24" (610 mm), and 12" (305 mm) all designed to assist in the removal of blades that may have become stuck in the holder. The main safety feature of this extractor is a simple but effective locking device that ensures a positive grip on the doctor blade. It is essential that the Pit Bull be adjusted to the locked position before any attempt is made to remove a doctor blade. The impact hammer unit then provides the energy to safely break loose the most difficult blades.
